CHOIR TRIP TO DURHAM – October 2012

CHOIR TRIP TO DURHAM  OCTOBER 2012

The Ladybrook Singers have recently returned from a very enjoyable  trip to Durham.

We enjoyed  performing in the beautiful Durham Cathedral where we sang to a large audience.

It was an emotional moving and unforgettable experience thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

Bon Achord a local Durham based choir held a joint concert with The Ladybrook Singers at Elvet Methodist Church

This was a most enjoyable concert.  Both choirs sang a variety of music from their varied repertoire

The last performance of the tour  was held at The Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle a market town in Teesdale County Durham

This was a very special venue and again a very enjoyable experience.

The Bowes Museum has a renowned art collection. A great attraction at the museum is The Silver Swan, the icon of the  Museum. It dates from 1773.The Swan is life-size and is controlled by three separate clockwork mechanisms. Each day at 2pm there is a display of the Swan in action. It is magical and fascinating to watch.
