Following our success at  The Biddulph Music Festival last Autumn The Ladybrook Singers were delighted to win two more trophies  at The Mrs. Sunderland Music Festival in Huddersfield. on Saturday 27th February

The Joseph Hancock Memorial Trophy – Adult Class was awarded to The Ladybrook Singers .

The choir sang two contrasting pieces, Wonderful World- Weiss & Douglas and The Seal Lullaby – Eric Whitacre. For the two pieces we gained a distinction.

Winning choirs from the competition then performed in the  “The last night of the Festival concert” during the evening together with other selected outstanding performers

We chose to sing the pieces we sang earlier in the day. Wonderful World and The Seal Lullaby.

After the evening concert  the award presentations  took place.

The Ladybrook Singers were overjoyed to be awarded The Huddersfield Centenary Trophy presented to the choir singing the best single piece of the whole day.

There were 23 Choirs competing and approximately 51 pieces sang. The Ladybrook Singers were awarded the trophy for singing The Seal Lullaby which is one of the choir’s favourite pieces.

The Choir are very busy working hard preparing to sing at a concert in Disley in April.

An exciting trip to Holland  is planned in May where we will perform at several venues, including Delft and Amsterdam.

On July 9th The Ladybrook Singers concert will take place at St Johns Church in Buxton as part of The Buxton Fringe Festival.
