We were awarded a Mark of 87 for each piece.
We won First prize – Norman Millard Trophy. a J Smiles Commemorative Plaque plus £450 for the choir.
The competition was strong as there were some excellent choirs performing in the class.
The Ajudicator for the section Dr.Vivien Pike had this to say :-
” Effective musical shaping of neatly supported phrases, giving the words expression.
Good blending with a warm and easy tone.Nice shaping with lovely rises and falls. Good breathing maintaining good tuning throughout.”
“A good choice for your lovely choir”
We all had a great day at Biddulph. The Festival was very well organised and all our hard work paid off in the end.
We couldn’t have done it without all the hard work from Alison our MD and Celia our accompanist,so many thanks to them both.
